Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was a natural athlete and developed a passion of sprinting while in the sprints at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition, she placed among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. In 2003, Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. She was the youngest winner of the 200-meter race at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, defeating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
