Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was conceived on
November 17, 1978 in London (Ontario, Canada) to Sandra Kay (Gale), who works
as a nurse and Lance Frederick McAdams who is a truck driver/furniture mover.
Rachel is of English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish descent. Rachel began acting
when she was when she was a teenager. When she was 13 years old, she was
participating in Shakespearean performances at summer theater camp. After
graduating, Rachel received a BFA degree from York University in Theater. After
making her debut on the episode of Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson (1998) She
was a co-star in the Canadian TV series Slings and Arrows (2003) in a
comedy-drama focusing on the struggles and trials of an Shakespearean theatre
group. She also received a Gemini award for her performance in 2003.Her
breakout role in the role of Regina George in the hit comedy Mean Girls (2004)
instantly catapulted her onto the short list of the top Hollywood's young
actors. After that, she landed the role of a major character opposite Ryan
Gosling in the adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks bestseller The Notebook
(2004), which was a surprising box office success and became the predominant
romantic drama for a brand new generation of moviegoers. Following the film's
production, McAdams and Gosling became romantically involved and dated through
the middle of 2007. McAdams continued to show her versatility onscreen with the
manic comedy Wedding Crashers (2005), the thriller Red Eye (2005), and the
holiday drama The Family Stone (2005).McAdams then explored the independent
film world with Married Life (2007), which debuted at Toronto Film Festival and
also included Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson. McAdams was
seen in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play (2008) and State of Play
(2008), respectively. She also appeared in The Time Traveler's Wife(2009) and
Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's international smash Sherlock Holmes (2009).
McAdams was the smart producer for Morning Glory (2010). She also was the
fiancee with a materialistic character Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s Midnight in
Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama in The Vow (2012), which she
starred opposite Channing Tatum. McAdams appears in Terrence Malick’s To the
Wonder (2012) along with Ben Affleck and Noomi Rapacace in Brian De Palma’s
action thriller Passion (2012).
